Design Concept

With this design of the Catalan pubilla with the senyera, I want to honor the strength and determination of the Catalan people. Inspired by our roots and traditions, but looking toward the future.

The pubilla is a symbolic figure in Catalan tradition, historically representing the eldest daughter who would inherit the family estate in rural areas. Today, she symbolizes Catalan identity, pride, and continuity of traditions.

The date October 1, 2017, marks the Catalan independence referendum, a pivotal moment when millions voted for Catalonia’s right to self-determination despite opposition. This day remains a strong symbol of resistance and the fight for Catalan sovereignty.
